Job Summary
A regional hospital in Southern Montana is seeking Critical Care Intensivists to staff a 24/7 true Intensivist program. Full-time and part-time Intensivist positions are available.

Job Description
The Intensivist group will cover a 23-bed medical surgical ICU utilizing a hybrid closed unit in which the Intensivist is a mandatory consult, and is empowered with the authority to manage the patient. This is a multidisciplinary team environment dedicated to excellence in clinical service and continuous quality improvement. Intensivist-directed multidisciplinary rounds are conducted daily with nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and dieticians in attendance. The intensivist group provides 24/7 coverage utilizing a shift staffing model. Shifts are 12 hours in length. Days, nights, and days off are rotated in 7-day blocks.

Facilities
The facility is a 200-bed accredited Level II trauma center serving an area of 125,000 square miles and a population of over 900,000 across four states. The hospital operates as part of a system of 11 hospitals serving California, Colorado, Kansas, and Montana.

Over the past decade, the hospital has been recognized for its technological, environmental, and community leadership. It has won numerous awards, including an EcoStar Award for its pollution prevention efforts and a Medal of Honor from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Health Resources and Services Administration for meeting and exceeding its goals in organ donation.

Location
The facility is located in a major city in the state of Montana. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, it has a population of just over 100,000, and is one of the 60 fastest growing cities of its size or larger. It is located near the southern edge of the state and is bisected by the Yellowstone River, which provides a link to Yellowstone National Park, just a few hours away by car. Founded in the mid-19th century as a railroad hub, the area is now a major trade and distribution center, connecting Seattle, Minneapolis, Denver, and Calgary, AB. The area is served by an international airport, which offers regular non-stop flights to and from Chicago, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Compensation
The Intensivist will be an employee of a private practice physician group, and full-time employment is complemented by a full benefits package. The position will be nationally competitive.
