Job Summary The department of neurology at a large, urban, tertiary referral center in Texas, is seeking Neurocritical Care Intensivists to join its established Intensivist Program and manage Neurology and Neurosurgery patients in its Neuro ICU. Qualified candidates will have attained subspecialty certification in Neurocritical Care or be Board Certified in Critical Care with a demonstrated interest in Neurocritical Care.

Job Description The Intensivist group covers a 20-bed Neuro ICU serving Neurosurgery and Neurology patients. The Neuro ICU will be staffed by four Intensivists, utilizing a 24/7 shift staffing model. Shifts are 12 hours in length, and rotated in 7-day blocks. Multidisciplinary team and teaching rounds are conducted daily. The multidisciplinary team includes Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Anesthesia specialties, as well as Neurology and Neurosurgery fellows. Intensivists are encouraged to pursue academic appointments through the hospital and its affiliated institutions.

Compensation The Intensivist will be employed by the hospital’s physician group. The department offers highly competitive salaries, 5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks CME, and a comprehensive benefits package, including malpractice insurance.
