Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates (PCCA), a private practice intensivist group, is hiring a Critical Care Intensivist Medical Director for its established and successful intensivist program at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. PCCA staffs and manages the 15-bed ICU at Sentara Williamsburg. It is a true Intensivist program with 24 hour in house coverage, daily multi-disciplinary rounds and a telemedicine connection provided by Sentara e-ICU to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The intensivist medicaldirector would be an employee of Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates. The medial director would work 12 clinical days a month. Days are 12 hours 7am to 7pm. The rest of the month would be spent on a combination of administrative duties, meetings for the ICU and personal time.
The ICU is staffed and managed by PCCA and operates as a true intensivist program, with the intensivist serving as head of the multidisciplinary team, overseeing and managing all ICU patients, and working closely with surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, pulmonary medicine physicians, and support staff.
PCCA Provides 24 hour coverage of the ICU: The unit is staffed by an intensivist from 7am to 7pm. The ACNP assumes coverage of the ICU at 7pm with backup provided by the Sentara eICU telemedicine. PCCA supports the refined multidisciplinary MD/ ACNP intensivist team model of care to provide expanded critical care services. The Intensivist in collaboration with the ACNPs function as intensivist teams.

The medial director will be an employee of Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates, Inc private physician group. The medical director salary is very competitive and consists of a base salary and administrative stipend, malpractice insurance, a family health care policy that includes eye and dental, reimbursable CME for education money for medical meetings, books, journals, etc. As an employee of PCCA you would be enrolled in the pension and profit sharing plan. PCCA will usually contribute minimum of 3% to 6% of salary on your behalf. There is also a 401K that you can contribute to by pre- tax paycheck deduction.
